Fire

In the event of a loss - In the event of  a residential loss

<ul><li>Call for emergency assistance if you feel it is necessary depending on the severity of the flooding or water damage.</li>
<li>Find the main water shut off valve for your house, or for the pipe where the water is leaking from and shut it off.</li>
</ul>After the flooding

<ul><li>If it is reasonable to do so by yourself (depending on the damages) remove the still water with buckets, towels, etc.</li>
<li>Dry the area by opening windows, turning on fans, etc.</li>
<li>Start disinfecting the area if you can do it by yourself.</li>
<li>Call your broker to advise them of your loss. If they are not available, you can always call us directly.</li>

Natural disaster (wind, hail, or ice)

In the event of a loss - automobile

When an accident happens 

<ul><li>Make sure everyone is safe and stay at the site of the accident.</li>
<li>If you can still drive your car, park your vehicle at the side of the road. If you are on a highway, do not get out of your car unless it is too dangerous to remain inside.</li>
</ul>If there are injuries

<ul><li>Call for emergency assistance as quickly as possible. Call 911 if you feel it is necessary.</li>
<li>Please make sure to report the accident to police.</li>
</ul>If there are no injuries and another car is involved

<ul><li>Go see the other driver and exchange information. Write down as many details as possible including the other person’s name, address, phone number, insurance company name and policy number, license plate number and vehicle registration number. You should also provide them with the same information.</li>
<li>If your car is no longer drivable, you need to call a tow truck. You have the right to choose the place where your vehicle will be towed to. If your vehicle is still drivable, drive it to repair a garage.</li>

<ul><li>If you are sure your car has been stolen, and not towed for example, you must call the police as soon as possible. The faster you call them, the more chance they will have to find and recover your vehicle.</li>

<ul><li>If it is reasonable to do so by yourself (depending on the damage) remove the standing water with buckets, towels, etc. to limit the damage and to protect items that are not already damaged.</li>
<li>Dry the area by opening windows, turning on fans, etc.</li>
<li>Start disinfecting the area if you can do it by yourself</li>
<li>Do not throw away any items that have been damaged. If necessary, move items to another area of the building but only if it is a safe and secure location where the items cannot be either damaged or possibly stolen or accidentally disposed of.</li>
